Chartered Building Surveyor James Barron is switching roles to Project Manager again, this time to oversee a major scheme for Newquay Town Council.
James is working with Newquay Town Council as part of the team tasked with transforming the Mount Wise building.
Formerly a community hub in the Cornish seaside town, it has fallen into disrepair in recent months and is currently out of use.
James has been responsible for appointing and working with a team of architects, quantity surveyors, structural engineers and mechanical & electrical engineers.
The building is set to be given a new lease of life with town council premises on the lower floor, meeting rooms and a new community hub on the ground floor, with serviced office space on the upper floors.
James said he is delighted to be playing an instrumental role in bringing this prominent building back to life.
“We have seen through a planning application to refurbish the building and now the project is going through a detailed design process,” said James.
“Again, this is the kind of project management role we often undertake at Barron Surveying Services Ltd, alongside our surveying work.
“It really is a tremendous opportunity for us, as a business, to get involved in exciting restoration and refurbishment schemes, helping to breathe new life into buildings of all types and ages that still have so much to offer.”
